Refresh A Smile That Looks Dull

Coffee, tea, red wine, soda, tobacco, some medications, and normal aging can all change the color of your teeth. Even with excellent brushing, these stains may make your smile look less bright than it feels.

Professional teeth whitening is a conservative cosmetic option for many patients. Compared with choosing an over-the-counter product on your own, dental supervision helps confirm that whitening is appropriate and gives you a plan for sensitivity, timing, and maintaining the result.

Dr. Tom Nack will first look for cavities, gum irritation, cracks, and existing restorations that could affect treatment. Whitening changes natural tooth structure but does not change the color of crowns, veneers, or fillings. Knowing that in advance helps avoid uneven surprises.

Whitening Options

In-Office Whitening

Mountain View Smiles offers Opalescence Boost as an in-office treatment. It is designed to brighten teeth during a visit that may last up to two hours. Our $199 in-office whitening offer includes touch-up trays and cannot be combined with other specials or promotional offers.

Custom Take-Home Trays

Custom trays fit closely over your teeth and hold professional Opalescence whitening gel. The current treatment instructions describe about 30 minutes of daily wear, but your doctor will provide the schedule and amount of gel that fit your case.

Disposable Go Trays

We also offer disposable “Go” trays. These prefilled trays are designed for about 20 minutes of wear and can be discarded after use, making them convenient for patients who do not want to clean and store a custom tray.

Why Choose Professional Whitening?

  • A dental exam confirms whether whitening is appropriate
  • Professional products and instructions are matched to your needs
  • Custom trays help keep gel where it belongs
  • Your team can help manage common sensitivity
  • Existing crowns, veneers, and fillings are considered in the plan
  • Touch-up guidance helps you maintain your result without overusing products

Whitening is not permanent. Your habits, natural tooth color, and exposure to staining foods and drinks affect how long the change remains visible. Good oral hygiene and occasional touch-ups can help maintain your smile.

What To Expect

Your consultation begins with the shade you have and the result you hope to reach. We examine your teeth and gums, discuss sensitivity, and review any visible restorations. If another issue is causing discoloration, we may recommend addressing it before whitening.

In-office treatment is completed at Mountain View Smiles using the planned professional product. For take-home care, we explain how to place the gel, seat the trays, clean them, and respond if your teeth become sensitive. Use whitening products only as directed; more is not better.

Helpful Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

How much whiter can my teeth get?

Results vary, but many patients see their teeth lighten by several shades. Stains from coffee, tea, red wine, and aging usually respond very well. Mountain View Smiles will check your shade before treatment so you can see your progress.

Is professional teeth whitening better than store bought kits?

Professional whitening uses stronger, dentist supervised gel and trays or treatments made for your teeth, so results are faster and more even. Over the counter strips can work for mild stains but often take longer and may not reach every tooth. A dental exam beforehand also makes sure cavities or gum issues are treated first.

Does teeth whitening cause sensitivity?

Some patients feel temporary sensitivity during or shortly after whitening. It usually fades within a day or two. Using a toothpaste for sensitive teeth and taking breaks between sessions can help.

Will whitening work on crowns, veneers, or fillings?

No. Whitening gel lightens natural tooth enamel but does not change the color of crowns, veneers, bonding, or tooth colored fillings. If you have visible restorations, our Scottsdale team can help you plan whitening and any replacements so everything matches.
